Nick Cannon has shared details of his mental health journey, revealing that he was recently diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder.
While speaking to People during the Los Angeles Mission’s Thanksgiving celebration, the Masked Singer host emphasized the importance of embracing his diagnosis to better understand himself and help others.
Cannon said, “I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested.”
Having previously been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, he added, “I’ve always known I’m neurodivergent, but now I’m learning to accept and use this diagnosis as a tool for self-improvement.”
According to Yahoo!, Cannon first disclosed his diagnosis on the November 8 episode of Counsel Culture podcast while explaining his identities with “markers” of the disorder.
He stated, “I’ve taken the power away from the term ‘narcissism’ by understanding it. I embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way.”
As per the publication, while focusing on his personal growth, Cannon balances a busy family life as a father of 12.
Additionally, while speaking about his Thanksgiving plans, he described visiting multiple homes to celebrate with his children.
“It’s complicated, but every house has something special, sweet potato pie, fried turkey. By the end of the day, I’m full and grateful.”
Furthermore, looking ahead to December, Cannon shared his plans to take his children to snowy destinations, including Aspen, Santa’s Village, and Big Bear.
He added, “All the kids want to go to the snow, so we’re making it happen,” as per the outlet.
